Guilford CT was first settled in 1639. This
beautiful Long Island shoreline town situated south of the Boston Post
Road is a combination residential and summer community bordered by the
towns of Branford, Madison, North Branford and Durham.
From the enormous and picturesque center Green to the bordering
streets that boast the third largest collection of historic home from
the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, Guilford represents New England at its best.

Surrounding the Guilford Green are four churches, stores, boutiques, art gallleries and fine dining establishments. The Henry Whitfield State Museum, Thomas Griswold House, Dudley Farm and Hyland House are four of the historic home museums that are also nearby.
There are also many fine new homes in family neighborhoods to choose from as well as rural North Guilford which attracts many people who crave country living.
The popular Handicrafts Fair is held on the Green yearly as well as the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, The Little Folks Fair and a series of summer concerts. The Guilford Agricultural Fair has been held yearly for over 125 years.

The community center hosts many interesting classes and clubs
as well as a comprehensive children's program featuring summer camps
and field trips. Senior citizen programs run daily and also feature
wonderful trips.

Traveling south from the Green down Whitfield Street towards Guilford Harbor is the Guilford Yacht Club and The Len Hubbard Town Marina featuring boat slips and a launching ramp for motor boats, sailboats and kayaks

Enjoy some of the most delicious seafood dining at Guilford Mooring or the The Stone House Restaurant while savoring the sights and sound of the harbor.
Going west from the Green to Water Street also known as Route 146 is where you can enjoy a year round 12-mile scenic tour along Long Island Sound that runs between Guilford and Branford
that includes Sachem's Head, Chaffinch Island as well as the Westwoods
Trail hiking area featuring many miles of woodland trails.
