Town of Madison

The lovely coastal setting of this historic town provides a wonderful backdrop for its many beautiful homes. The green is surrounded by stately churches and historic colonials. Some of Connecticut’s most elegant estates are here. Commuting to New Haven is convenient either on Route I-95 or on the Shoreliner commuter train. It is 130 miles to either New York or Boston.

Summer concerts and antique shows are held regularly on the Green and the new town campus includes town hall, tennis courts, exercise facilities and playing fields. There are many beautiful sandy beaches and a beach club featuring picnic areas with barbeques, tennis courts and playing fields - all adjacent to the private Madison Golf Course.  Hammonnassett State Park is located here with its two mile long sandy beach, nature center and camping facilities.

There are several highly regarded restaurants nearby and shopping along the main street is varied and interesting, from the large grocery store & gourmet kitchen shop to the spectacular book store which hosts many book signings and other special events.

Madison has much to offer if you’re looking for a small, traditional New England town with many beautiful homes to choose from.
